The Standard Basis vision

A Market That
Moves With AI.

Build a lasting way to understand, buy, and sell AI consumption—even as the models and hardware change.

Company and market framework under development.

The Market Around
a Common Standard.

Standard Basis is the company developing a brokerage and maintained reference indices for AI consumption. CCBT is the denomination those indices apply.

The initial business

Help counterparties transact.

Bring buyers and providers together, make requirements and offers comparable, and help structure the terms. Useful procurement is the starting point—not an assumption that a liquid exchange already exists.

How the brokerage works
The broader purpose

Make AI an input businesses can model.

Connect consumption, relative model costs, and commercial commitments on a shared basis. Better evidence and repeated transactions can make that basis more useful through time.

Understand CCBT

Useful to Buyers.
Useful to Providers.

The ambition is broader than a new benchmark: a common economic language for planning, procurement, and commitments on both sides of the market.

For AI buyers

Plan beyond
the current model.

Compare cost with business value.

Use a common cost reference alongside your own measures of outcomes, quality, and token efficiency.

Connect budgets to consumption.

Model changes in usage and allocation against a shared reference, rather than treating today’s model mix as permanent.

Separate commitment from selection.

Explore future CCBT commitments that leave qualifying model allocation open until consumption.

Discuss a buying requirement
For inference providers

Bring supply to
a broader market.

Respond to structured demand.

Receive requirements that make volume, timing, region, and service conditions clear enough to quote.

Make the offer comparable.

Express economics around a common reference while keeping capacity, service quality, and delivery terms visible.

Develop longer-term relationships.

Explore commitments across delivery periods, with explicit eligibility, substitution, and service obligations.

Discuss provider participation

These are intended applications, not currently available financial products. The market provides the cost reference; each business still determines value and service suitability.

Tomorrow’s Market.
Not Today’s Basket.

The denomination stays the same. The models, usage weights, and price do not. At each date, CCBT references the market then—not a frozen collection of today’s tokens.

For a proposed future commitment, the agreed CCBT quantity can be allocated among qualifying models at delivery. The current market basket determines the reference; it does not dictate your eventual allocation.

Same denomination. A different market price.

The market basket defines the reference, not your allocation. A future balance converts into qualifying models at the prices prevailing when you consume it.

What carries forward?

The agreed CCBT quantity, defined market, and delivery terms—not a fixed dollar value, native token count, or set of models.

What changes with the market?

Qualifying models, aggregate usage weights, the reference price, and conversion into each model’s tokens.

The visual shows two fictional reference observations, not a forward quote. Delivery rights, capacity, substitution, and remedies require an explicit contract.

From Procurement
to a Liquid Market.

Start with useful transactions. Build the shared evidence, standards, and counterparty relationships that can support a broader market.

01 / Commercial starting point

Comparable procurement.

Standardized requests and competing quotes connect real buying needs to supply. Participants can see which terms make a difference.

02 / A stronger common basis

Reference data & analysis.

Observed prices and representative market usage support maintained indices, model conversions, and a record of changing consumption.

03 / A broader market

Commitments through time.

Repeatable terms could support future price discovery, financing, risk transfer, and secondary markets for sufficiently standardized positions.

Liquidity is an outcome to build toward, not a property supplied by the formula. Each step depends on participation, credible data, delivery arrangements, and appropriate governance.

The proposed development path

A Lasting Denomination.
An Evolving Market.

The founding thesis argues for an economic unit that follows consumption without choosing a winning model or defining what intelligence is worth.

The founding thesis

A Common Basis for AI.

The original argument: the market gap, the requirements for a common standard, and what it could enable.

The objective is not to eliminate the complexity of AI economics.
It is to give that complexity a price.

Bring a procurement need, qualifying supply, or a contribution to the common standard.
